Between Buchach to Jerusalem

It is not surprising that only two cities in the world claim cultural centers dedicated to the life, literature and legacy of S.Y Agnon – Jerusalem’s Agnon House and Buchach’s Agnon Literary Center. Join us for a conversation (in English) between Mariana Maksymiak (Program Director at Agnon Literary Center in the Nobel laureate’s Ukrainian hometown) and Jeffrey Saks (Director of Research, Agnon House). The two will chat by remote from Ukraine and Israel about how they each came to their shared passion for Agnon from rather unlikely places. What is the role and mission of each institution as a cultural force in its own country?  How do Buchach and Jerusalem remain forever linked through Agnon’s writing?
